Local CDFI's
Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) provide investments into underserved and low-income communities. They invest in local small businesses in order to spark economic and community development. CDFI's do this through the CDFI Fund, which allocates funding to critical projects and business investment opportunities in these communities. These organizations are overseen by the US Department of the Treasury.
In California alone, there are 86 certified CDFI's providing funding services. In the Bay Area, there are many CDFI's that specialize in providing financial services to small businesses. Typically, these loans will be packaged with technical business assistance and advisory services in order to ensure your success. These organizations are ideal for established businesses who are looking for capital as well as assistance in scaling or growing their businesses.
